The Fixing Of Things Which Require Fixing
« Thread Started on Sept 9, 2009, 9:54am »

For those of you who haven't read the latest news fader entry, I am pleased to announce that the board resize code (which has been glitched since we upgraded to the latest version of ProBoards sometime last year) has finally been fixed. Apparantly I managed to screw up part of the code when I copied the updated Ultimate Info Center script in. At any rate, it's fixed now, so hopefully this makes a positive change to the appearance of the site.

In related news, please take the time to check out the Arcade section of the site. All the old, now defunct, games have been cleaned out and replaced with shiny new ones. If you're looking to kill some time, go have a look- click the Arcade icon next to the Logout button on the top menu bar to access it. I'll be continuing to work on this particular area in future too, so stay tuned.

Finally, on a totally unrelated note, I'd like to take the time to once again remind all members that the Banner Contest is still open, and will not close until we get at least two entries. Check it out here.

Cheers,
Slayer

I didn't even notice anything f--ked up, to be completely honest.

So I vote don't care because I honestly noticed nothing.

I wasn't aware of the trouble but I will vote good because making something right whenever possible is a good idea. In my 19 years in repairs and services I'm sure a lot of people didn't realize some of the things I've fixed were broken but it makes me know I did something useful anyway if it can be made right.

Essentially, the board width on all pages is supposed to horizontally resize to 728 pixels, the width of our banner. I inserted a code to do this about two years ago. A few months after configuring the code, ProBoards updated their systems. As a result of the update, one of our other codes had to be reconfigured to conform to the new system. After reconfiguring this code, the resize no longer worked, and the main page returned to the default relative resize setting which is, I believe, 70% of the monitor's horizontal resolution. I tried to fix this at the time, failed, and finally got it working now. Hence this update.

I think the arcade section is very cool. And creative.

If I was better at computer drawing I would enter the banner contest. I'm not too good at making computer pages. If you needed an actual wall built I'm your man but I'm just not a graphics man, sorry.

I have always appreciated the works done by members of this forum I hope they'll participate more in those aspects.
